Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
Please know that you have been, and continue to be, in my thoughts and prayer. I am also praying earnestly for our parish that we hold the course in managing the challenges of COVID-19 to keep our parish viable and on-track to attain our new parish vision. We shared our new parish vision and its guiding principles last year in our town-halls and in follow-up written communications.
I know that the isolation and anxiety from the pandemic restrictions are wearing. Some may feel the impact more than others. Keep the faith. Be in touch with friends and family as best is possible. Get in touch with your family physician if you think that's appropriate. Let us know at St Luke's if we can help too. Father Doug will be providing emergency pastoral coverage during August when I am away. We will also be continuing our telephone-tree contacts.
We expect to mail the new edition of our parish newsletter, the community link, by the end of this coming week. It contains a lot of information about our re-gathering as a community and about how we expect things to be in the fall. I have added some additional comments in my message that is printed in the newsletter. I hope that you will find the information to be helpful and reassuring.
When we do re-gather as a community, things will look a lot different than what we have known in the past. I ask you to be flexible in all the arrangements that we have to put in place. I know we can do it and I wish to thank you for your understanding.
Faithfully in Christ,
