On 18 March, Bishop Andrew, Bishop of Toronto, shared thoughts on his experience at the cathedral on the previous Sunday. On 15 March, all public liturgies in the Diocese of Toronto were suspended until further notice due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
"Last Sunday, for the first time in my life, I presided at a service in which there was no congregation. I stood on the chancel steps of St. James Cathedral and spoke to rows and rows of empty pews. It was an extraordinary moment, something I will never forget," Bishop Andrew began.
