Baptisms and Confirmation

Busy weekend: 7 Baptisms and 4 Confirmations

Confirmations on Saturday with Bishop Riscylla at St Thomas, Millbrook plus Baptisms on Sunday at St Luke's

On the Fourth Sunday of Easter: The People of St Luke's gathered to celebrate the Baptism of seven little ones. They represented a small flock of grandchildren connected to the parish.

Father Glenn reminded the parents and sponsors of the commitment they were professing on the part of the children. He also explained the connection with Confirmation, the occasion on which the children could make their profession on their own behalf.

As part of the Liturgy, the parents were presented with individual candles that represent The Light of Christ. Father Glenn suggested that they light the candle each year on the anniversary of the Baptism to recall the importance of belonging to the community of faith -- the Body of Christ.

Following the Baptisms, Father Glenn presented the Certificates of Confirmation to Autumn, Trinity and Matthew. (Christopher was not able to attend the presentation.) The certificates were signed by Bishop Ryscilla at the Service the prior day.

Blessings to Elfreide, Carmine, Sara, Colton, Maylee, Maya, and Raelynn and to their families as they begin their calling of Baptism. And congratulations once again to Autumn, Trinity, Matthew, and Christopher who have now made their commitment to faith on their own behalf.
